Visitor's Guide for the Joan Perry Brock Center

Decorum Note:

If you and your guests choose to attend the graduation ceremony, please show respect and dignity to your faculty, your fellow graduates, and their families by remaining for the entire event. It is not appropriate or acceptable to walk out before all fellow graduates attending have been recognized and the ceremony has officially ended. If you or your guests are not able to stay for the entire ceremony, please watch the streaming broadcast online from home or a remote location.

SVCC Cap and Gown Information

Students participating in Graduation 2026 can order their academic regalia by visiting https://colleges.herffjones.com/college/southsideVA and entering "Southside Virginia Community College". Per the vendor, the last day to order your Cap and Gown online is Tuesday, April 14, 2026. Orders placed after this date may incur additional fees.

Note: Students must wear SVCC regalia -- high school cap and gown will not be allowed.

Regalia order includes Cap, Gown, Tassel, and Hood. Additional items and packages may be available.

TIME SCHEDULE: Everyone will assemble in assigned rooms between 8:00 and 9:00 a.m. The processional will march at 9:30 a.m. sharp!


8:00 a.m. - Graduates
All Graduates should report to the Willett Hall Gymnasium to get their reader card and assemble for the processional. (Staff members will be directing graduates.)


8:30 a.m. - Faculty, administration, and guests assemble in rooms as follows:

9:30 a.m. - Processional will march!

Participants will march in the following order in the processional:

The program will last approximately 1-1/2 to 2 hours.

Diplomas

SVCC is live with Parchment Diploma Services. Students will receive digital and printed diplomas directly from Parchment.

An email will be sent when the digital diploma is available for download.

Ticket Information

Tickets will be required for all guests, with a limit of four tickets per graduate.

The excitement is building to host Graduation 2026 at Longwood’s Joan Perry Brock Center.

Tickets will be required for all guests who want to attend the ceremony with a limit of Four tickets per graduate.

You will receive an email to your SVCC student email account from Longwood-Joan Perry Brock Center (tickets@la1.glitnirticketing.com) with specific details to log into your Ticket account, which has been created for you to claim your four tickets.

Guests' tickets are not automatically reserved for graduates - first-come, first-served.

The deadline to claim tickets is Monday, April 27th, 2026.

Each guest must present their ticket for scanning to enter the Center for your Graduation ceremony.
